Just Keep Rowen
Update on Our Sweet Baby Row Row (11/16/22)
This is a long one, but updating everyone as best we can.
What started as a triple ear infection, back to back, For the last several weeks, 3 courses of antibiotics, 7 office visits, (2) ENT trips, (1) ER visit, to find out Rowen’s tubes for his ears were impacted. We planned, and scheduled surgery for them to remove, and put new Tubes in for 12/8. As of this last Monday, we went back to the ENT for evaluation, because Rowen was not improving, & has not been improving, the ENT stated his ears are now clear, they’re no longer impacted, & the ears looked good, & cancelled his surgery. The problem is, Rowen has not been his normal self.. We figured with him
Not walking, / having little interest it was because of his tubes being impacted, causing balancing issues, / not wanting to walk, loss off appetite, & our sweet boy just not being his normal self. I’ve been persistent on getting answers, as we knew something was not right, thinking it was the same symptoms of his ear infections, prior to having his tube surgery last year. After leaving the ent Monday, they said his tubes were no longer impacted, and the ears looked good, & they would put a referral into see a neurologist for him on why he suddenly stopped walking. In tears, I told the doctors I knew something was not right, & we’ve been waiting weeks and weeks to get answers, we contacted his pediatrician office again requesting for him to be seen, as we wanted blood work done and additional scans done & to be evaluated: after going back and fourth, & the pediatrician office stating they’d like him to wait till next week, I said that was not going to work, I’m well aware they have sick visits and because of insurance purposes we needed to get seen, in order for Rowen to get the necessary Blood work and tests done. After seeing the pediatrician yesterday, & getting labs done they called us and told us to head to Motts children right away.. Long story short: Rowen got a blood transfusion this morning, MRI, & CT scan. We just got done meeting with his new team of doctors, & it is with a heavy heavy heart that our sweet boy, has what they believe is stage 4 neuroblastoma metastasized cancer. It is in his stomach, adrenal glands, spine, they believe bones once’s they sample his bone marrow, & chest area. Kyle & I are completely devastated, & will be starting Rowens treatment plan very soon. Please pray for us all, as our sweet boy just turned two today, & this is as his parents is our worst nightmare, & we’re completely devastated, & heartbroken.
